Specific entry requirements
Successful completion of a course which is equivalent to the first two years of a UK honours degree (240 credits), for example an HND (with a merit profile from year 2 modules), Foundation degree (55%), or equivalent international Diploma, in Business and/or Management which includes a Marketing component.
Our standard entry requirement is three A-levels or equivalent qualifications. In some cases, courses have specific required subjects and additional GCSE requirements. In addition to A-levels, we accept a wide range of other qualifications including:
the Welsh Baccalaureate
the Access to Higher Education Diploma
a BTEC National Certificate, Diploma or Extended Diploma at a good standard and in a relevant subject
the International Baccalaureate Diploma
the European Baccalaureate Diploma
Scottish qualifications – five subjects in SCE with two at Higher level or one at Advanced Higher level, or three subjects in Scottish Highers or two at Advanced Higher level
a recognised foundation course
T-levels*.
* T-levels are a relatively new qualification but are already included in the UCAS tariff. We welcome prospective students who are taking this qualification to apply. For some programmes with specific required subjects, particular subject areas or occupational specialisms may be required.
English language requirements
If English is not your first language then you will need to show that your English language skills are at a high enough level to succeed in your studies.
The entry requirement for your course will be expressed as an IELTS level and refers to the IELTS Academic version of this test. We are now also accepting the IELTS Indicator test, you can find out more about the test on the IELTS Indication site. The University however does accept a wide range of additional English language qualifications, which can be found below.
The university’s English language requirements in IELTS levels are as follows:

Nutrition BSc (Hons) 6.5 overall with a minimum of 6.0 in each component

Learning and assessment
Over the year you will take eight compulsory modules.
Strategic Marketing Management challenges you to apply business and marketing knowledge. You’ll engage in a complex, team-based strategic marketing simulation.
Our Professional Practice module helps you prepare for your career. You’ll research an industry and reflect on how they can deliver the skills employers are looking for in graduate recruits. This module also covers:
CV writing
interviewing
assessment centre skills.
Start this course in January
You have the option to start this course in January. In each of your three years, you will study your first semester between January and May and your second semester between September and December. There will be no teaching during June, JLearning and teaching
We will teach you through a variety of methods, including;
lectures
seminars
workshops
tutorials.
We support your learning through:
exercises
debates
discussions
case study analysis within the classroom.
You will be immersed in an employer focused course, working on real-world marketing projects in our new Marketing and Social Media Lab that is equipped with the latest industry-standard tools and software, such as google analytics and Adobe Creative Cloud.
Assessment
This course includes the Essential Skills for Academic Success module which will help you to;
reinforce your study skills
engage confidently in all the activities and assessments on our course.

Career prospects
The appeal of Business and Marketing Management graduates is that they can fit into marketing roles or more general business roles. They have not only developed the functional knowledge, but also the strategic thinking and other transferable skills that equip them to develop into effective, confident, reflective managers. Business and Marketing Management students have gone on to graduate roles in all areas of marketing, including brand management, marketing communications, digital marketing, marketing research, and sales, working in a wide variety of organisations and marketing agencies, both large and small. Employers of Business and Marketing Management graduates include Sky, Microsoft, Aldi, Reed Business Information, and Citroën among many others. A number of graduates have also gone on to undertake Masters degrees in marketing or broader business subjects.
